by Josh McCrohon @JoshMcCrohon57Tony Bellew was supposed to fight David Haye on December 17th but that has recently been delayed as David Haye has suffered an arm injury by slipping on a set of stairs. It is unknown when the rematch will take place, but I would suspect spring 2018. But who can replace Haye if he’s unable to recover? Here’s my list of 10 boxers who can replace David Haye and fight Tony Bellew in 2018! 10. Dillian WhyteWhyte only fought last month against Robert Helenius where he walked out victorious, but has already stated on twitter that he’d like to take a shot at Bellew. Whyte has only suffered one loss in his boxing career and that came at the hands of Anthony Joshua, but it certainly doesn’t seem to have affected his confidence, stating on twitter: “Let’s not let the boxing fans down @EddieHearn I will fight Bellew @TonyBellew in December and beat him up even without a proper training camp @SkySportsBoxing” My Thoughts: I think this one would be really fascinating to watch as I have no idea who would win. On one hand, Tony Bellew has a great chance but Whyte has only had one loss and that was to arguably one of the greatest boxers in the world today. Tough call, undoubtedly an excellent fight! 9. BJ FloresBJ Flores was the fighter Bellew beat before moving on to the Hayemaker the first time around. Flores has a boxing record of: 34 wins, 3 losses and 1 draw which is a pretty good track record. This fight is unlikely to happen though, as Flores has kept his mouth shut about the Bellew fight on social media and may want to avoid Bellew after a referee stoppage in the third round last year. My Thoughts: I wouldn’t want to see this one as I think it’s too predictable. I also thinks there’s more challenging opponents for Bellew now! 8. Amir KhanThis is a fight I’d like to see but also think the chances are slim. We don’t know who the “I’m a Celeb” star is going to take on next in the ring though he does say that he has unfinished business with fellow boxer, Kell Brook. However, he has also admitted that he has one fight in mind before he fights Brook. He hasn’t said who he has in mind, but that man could be Tony Bellew...Just maybe. My Thoughts: This one could be really fun to watch. Amir Khan vs. Tony Bellew sounds good. Unfortunately, I don’t see this one happening. Would it be a good fight? Absolutely. 7. Conor McGregorBear with me here! Yes he might be the UFC Lightweight Champion, but he was the champion when he battled Floyd Mayweather. If McGregor is serious about his boxing career, Bellew is a good talking point. Personally, I think this fight would be really fun to watch but might not happen. My Thoughts: This fight as I said would be quite fun. Will it happen? Never say never but I think it’s safe to say it won’t. It’s fun to dream though! 6. Chris Eubank Jr.Chris Eubank Jr. is a great boxer who I think could push Bellew to his breaking point, I really do. Eubank has a track record of 26 wins and only 1 loss, which came to Billy Joe Saunders in 2014. My Thoughts: Eubank Jr. is having a really good boxing career so far, with notable wins over names like: Tom Doran, Arthur Abraham, Nick Blackwell and most recently, Avni Yidirim. His next scheduled fight is February 2018 but at the rate he’s going, you had better believe that Tony Bellew is on the list of boxers he wants to fight. I’d be really interested in seeing this fight go down and I DO think this fight will happen within the next 3 years. 5. Andre WardFun Fact: Andre Ward and Tony Bellew were both featured in the film ‘Creed!’ Andre Ward is also 32-0 in the boxing ring, which is a fairly stellar record in truth. Who would win this brutal dream match? This could go either way I think. Ward isn’t undefeated for a reason, the man is a beast. Sure, he may have retired in September 2017, but many boxers before have come out of retirement to fight again, look at David Haye! My Thoughts: Tony Bellew vs. Andre Ward...that is money and money is good. What a fight this would be. 4. Gennady GolovkinAnd speaking about money fights, this would be one hell of a fight if it was to happen. Golovkin is ranked by “The Ring” as the world’s best active boxer, and after seeing him fight it’s hard to disagree. There are some boxers slightly above his level but that doesn’t matter as Golovkin proves day in and day out that he can hang with the best in the sport! My Thoughts: Wow. This would be fantastic, this is a boxing fight I’d LOVE to see, an absolute dream match for the ages! 3. Wladimir KlitschkoThe semi-retired Dr. Steelhammer is by far one of the best boxers who’s fought this year. His last fight was a loss to Anthony Joshua in the 11th round back in April and he does claim to be retired - but one last fight wouldn’t hurt, would it? Especially one of this magnitude! They’d tear the roof off the venue! My Thoughts: This wouldn’t be a fight. This would be a war! They’d kill each other, but I do think Klitschko would have this fight won. 2. Anthony JoshuaArguably the best fighter in the world today, Anthony Joshua is a beast. In the past, Bellew said he wouldn’t fight Joshua as he has said and I quote: “I'm fighting, let's get it straight, a big cruiserweight, a very small heavyweight” I don’t think that’s a definitive no though is it... My Thoughts: Forget all the other fights on this list, except maybe one which we’re going to be talking about next. This is the fight I want to see, but it is quite unrealistic let’s face it. However, a dream match is a dream match, and this would be one if I’ve ever seen one. 1. Tyson FuryThis one is the most likely to happen. If Haye and Bellew get their match in spring, I can see this fight happening further down the line. If it were to happen, my prediction is Tyson Fury. Why? He’s Tyson Fury, the man is an animal. My Thoughts: I really hope this one happens, I really do. Maybe by the time this editorial gets published, it already has been announced. I am writing this article on the 4th of December so maybe it already had! God, I hope so. That’s the list! Do you agree? Do you disagree? Sound off below! I’ve been Josh and that was 10 Replacements for David Haye! I’ll see you next time!
